2011 BORYS CLASSIC
![]() Rules Governing the 6th Annual Borys Classic: Saturday, September 17th Club de Golf Carling Lake www.golfcarlinglake.com First Nine - Two Man Scramble/Vegas Teams of two play a scramble (Vegas) match against another team of two. A limitation here is that each player must contribute at least three (3) drives during this nine.. The winning team at the end of 9 holes wins 1 point (½ point each if the match is tied) Second Nine – Alternate Shot Teams of two alternate hitting the same ball until the ball is holed. In this format, both players will hit a drive and the team will have the choice to use whichever drive they would like. A limitation here is that each player must contribute at least three (3) drives during this nine. Each team will end up with a score on the hole and a match is played against their opponents scores. The winning team at the end of 9 holes wins 1 point (½ point each if the match is tied) Third Nine – Team Best Ball (Better Ball) Teams of two each play their own ball throughout the hole. The best score on each team is taken into consideration and played against the other team’s best score. The match continues on 9 holes and the winning team gets 1 point (½ point each if the score is tied) Overall There are also 2 points to be won for the entire, 27 hole match. The team that wins the combined match for the 27 holes (scramble, alternate shot, and best ball) wins an additional 2points (1point each if the score is tied). Total – 5 points per match Mulligans for Cancer: Upon registration on Saturday morning, all participants will be given the opportunity to purchase, for $10, a mulligan. We've instilled this rule to try to raise a bit of money for our teammate, Vinnie Rayez, who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.. All money raised will be donated in Vinnie's name towards Cancer Research. Both captains STRONGLY ENCOURAGE all team members to purchase one of these mulligans – no matter how good you think you are, there is always room for a second chance in golf! A couple of rules here: 1 – Only one mulligan is allowed per player and they are non-transferable (you cannot give it to your partner) 2 – Mulligans can only be used on Saturday and must be used within the first 18 holes of the match. We don't want a putt on the last hole to decide the outcome of the match to come down to a mulligan. 3 – When being played, it must be made clear to your opponents that a mulligan is being taken and your mulligan chip handed over to your opponents at that time. 2011 BORYS
