2008 Ryder Cup - Jim Furyk

Okay...I know...swing tips from Jim Furyk's swing that can help your game. Crazy concept! His swing certainly will be the most unique you will watch this weekend. However, I have always believed we can learn something from everyone, and Furyk is no different.

We all know his swing is different, but here is something to watch for that can help your game. Most players will release the club through impact, meaning that the forearms will roll over each other after contacting the ball. Furyk doesn't. He is not the only player to play this way. It tends to make the player a little shorter, yet very accurate.

The club rotates with his body instead of his arms through impact. The trick to hitting the ball toward your target when you don't release the club is to get your chest and shoulders to face your target at impact. It is very different from most players as their shoulders need to be square to their target line. Therefore, if you don't release your club through impact then copy Furyk's shoulder position.
